Here is a list of how to set goals and or resolutions.
|
Wed, 31 December 2014
In this show I talk about how to set and achieve proper goals. Far too many of us aren't setting goals anymore and when they do they're so insignifant we can't fail. What's the point of setting a goal we can't fail? Find something substantial, something that will awaken that inner giant in you and inspire your day! |

On this show I wanted to talk about how I was able to extend a few pleasurable moments I had over the holidays with loved ones. I link both Anxiety and Depression to living in the past and future when our answer is living in the moment. I truly believe we can avoid the slipperly slope of medication if we look to living in the moment instead of the past or future. |

It means so much to have long time listeners and actually know about it. Dayna Holloway has been listening on and off to Exploring Mind and Body with her daughter Leah who also enjoys the show. They get together for 'tea time', drink peppermint tea, listen to the show and talk about life afterward. What a lovely story and what an advantage Leah has in life. |

The main reason I wanted to talk to Marney was because she likes to talk about fun, and I'm all about fun. As much as my topics seem to be serious at times, I love to have fun and not only is this book fun but so is Marney. Personally I think we as a society believe you have to be serious and stern, walk around in a suit with a straight face and go to meetings all the time to be successful. I don't think that's true and I was so happy to hear Marney talk about her perspective of how you can find success while having fun as well. During our interview Marney goes over how her book is separated into 3 major categories, Hop, Skip, Jump. She also picks one of her favorite 'exercise's from each chapter and explains how it can benefit your life. |

Many of us love Christmas, but we're so busy stressed out we aren't able to enjoy the little things we love. Check out this show for some simple tips we can all implement at this time of year to reduce stress.

I know it's not easy making decisions, I know most of us usually want someone else to decide, but I don't think we realize how important making decisions are. First of all decisions form our destiny; where we work, our financial situation, our family, where we live. Absolutely everything is determined by the decisions we make. And we we stop making decisions, if we don't exercise our decision making muscle than we slowly have more and more difficulty making decisions for ourselves. |

How to get em and how to keep em... |
Sun, 30 November 2014
The topic on today’s tip is the stress we put on our bodies by highly processed food. We put an incredible amount of stress on our bodies by eating highly processed foods. I’m talking about everything from breads and pastas to chips and crackers. It would be a good idea to remind ourselves that there is usually toxins in the form of sugar, food coloring, msg, fillers, additives and other preservatives in these foods to make them look good, taste good and keep the on the shelf as long as possible which rarely means they’re healthy for us. When we consume these highly processed foods that contain a number of toxins we’re putting an enormous amount of stress on our bodies over all, and that’s not even to specify when we have digestion issues, more directly acid reflux or indigestion, headaches, allergies like nasal issues, out of the blue headaches, and even sleep issues.

In Alberta Canada we live in an area where we’re pretty much vulnerable to how much we can control in the winter time when it comes to weather. -32 degrees Celsius (-25 Fahrenheit) is a reality for us up here and could be a daily occurrence for long stretches at this time of year. With blizzards and cold weather, road conditions, along with tires and conditions of vehicles (although many times it doesn’t matter what type of vehicle you have) it seems like choice is taken from us at times (don’t get me wrong though, the ultimate choice to live here is ours). There are times throughout the winter where we literally are not able to travel because it’s too dangerous, highways are shut down or we simply don’t want to leave the house. At times this makes it difficult to run a business, make it to work, or take the kids to school. |

In this show I talk about how small talk makes me terribly uncomfortable. It's not like I do it on purpose and it's not like I try to brush people off, it's simply who I am. I don't think there's anything wrong with small talk, all I am saying is it's not for everyone. I also talk about a friendly young gentlemen changed my entire day with his small talk, which actually made me rethink my almost anxiety towards it. |

Farming food and healing is the title of this show and I brought on Seann Bardell on to talk about his experiences with each. I believe you'd be hard pressed to find a more traveled, educated man in these fields which is clear from all he's done and everywhere he's been.

What's great about this life is we get to choose what we want out of it. In this show I talk about how I formed my life and how you can too. I talk about the choices I've made and how I've been able to travel and see and do what I want. The truth is we all control out own destiny and you believe you can have and do and be what you want, I believe 100% that we can. Hope you enjoy the show! |

I have a real issue with tipping for service because it seems like the price always goes up, then it seems like new places pop up with tip jars and expectations of giving more than you pay for. Who decides, when will it end, feeling cheap and who's right. I talk about it all right hiere in this show. Hope you enjoy! |

Alright so this show is called let them haters hate because there's always someone that will show their true colors from time to time and let them know how they really feel about you (and often your work). I threw up this post not too long ago which received an incredibly positive response which also triggered a private message that was less than friendly, in fact it was downright mean. One of the most frequent questions I'm asked from young entreprenuers is 'how do you deal with the negative people that come out'. So I thought I would address it here in this show and let everyone know how I deal with it. I also talk about other types of failure and rejection and how I've dealt with that in the past and how I'll deal with it in the future. |

In this post I really wanted to give Derek Jeter his due. He's a professional baseball player that recently ended his career and will go down as one of the best players that ever played the game. I very much disliked the Yannkees for most of my career but it's worth noting that Jeter did an incredible job or representing a hero we could actually look up to. Maybe someone from back in the day where kids really looking up to sports figures and had good reason to. We simply don't have the figures we used to and people to look up to like we did in the past and like children could and should of Jeter. |

So, many of us at least in Canada just finished with Turkey Dinner and our wonderful holiday of Thanksgiving! Which means many people are feeling guilty, bloated, and far off the tracks of how well they were just doing. It doesn’t matter how well we plan or how strong we try to stick to our guns, at times we completely fall off the wagon and need some help getting back on track so why not look to detox after the holidays. |

Unfortunatley Terry Fox isn't exactly a house hold name, well maybe if you live in Canada, but even then, I think many people don't really know his whole story. This isn't so much a post about the Terry Fox story but more so why we don't pay more attention to positive news than negative. |

Believing in yourself isn't the easiest thing to do. There is so much doubt, so much unknown. I'm not sure exactly where internal confidence comes from but I can tell you it usually doesn't come easy. Believing in yourself or lack there of, has a lot to do with failure. The fear of failure controls so much. Many of us are simply afraid to fail to follow our dreams. |

So I’ve had big names before, maybe none bigger with 2 million copies sold by Mr. Wheat Belly. He’s changed the industry in many ways, changes many lives as well. I’m not one to say ‘stay away from wheat’, and as you’ll find out Dr. Davis isn’t exactly saying that, he’s saying because the industry has changed so much, it would be a good idea to not only consider what you’re putting in your body but the source as well. |

This interview is with founder of Primal Blue Print Mark Sisson. Mark's health philosophy? Really, my health philosophy is surprisingly simple. I follow a diet based on an understanding of evolutionary science. I think it’s more important to eat, move, and live according to how humans are designed and not according to society’s artificial developments of the last 100 years. Fortunately, this type of lifestyle is not only incredibly healthy, it’s quite simple. In a nutshell:

This is another short blog post from facebook.com/trueformlife I talk about improving your quality of life through taking baby steps. Many times we think we have no time, we have no energy, we have no resources when all the while if we change our mind set, if we look at life just a little differently we can make a difference in our lives. Baby steps are steps are sustainable; if we do one thing at a time we can achive what we set out to. |

You know what’s sad, is that grown adults still bully. What may be worse, grown adults allow themselves to be bullied. I mean when you’re a child it’s hard to understand what’s right and what isn’t. I want to give you some background about it, I want to tell you why I designed and even how. There are so many different type of proteins out there, why would I design my own? I want to talk about these other proteins too and let you know how most of them do more harm than good. I’m also going to tell you what it’s like to design your own product and bring it to market, what the health food industry is like and what direction we’re going with the company |

Equipment:Debbie uses a Champion juicer, but says you get what you pay for. You can buy a more expensive juicer or a lower end one. Just remember, you don't get all the nutrients from the lowest quality types. Wheat grass:In how to juice Debbie also talks about how to grow and harvest wheat grass and finally how to use. Great topic right here. Debbie ends up freezing hers is coconut water.....how good does that sound!? Fermenting Pulp:So one of the biggest issues of why people don't juice is because of lost nutrients or wasted food. Debbie talks about how she actually turns her pulp into fermented food. I love talking about this subject so I'm glad Debbie gave us some advise on how to ferment our own food. Vacuum Sealing:Here is an interesting topic and way to preserve your juice so you can take it with you wherever you go! Debbie talks about how she carries juice with her and how this process makes it easier so she's never without her juice. Fruit/Veggie ratio:80/20 |

Today I’m going to talk about being grateful for what we have. This show was in part inspired by our last show #144, paradise in plain sight. I mean, so often we wish we had something, we talk about when we get older, or when we retire when or when we have this or that, when all the while exactly what we want is staring us in the face. Often we have everything we need, we even have everything we’ve ever dreamed of but we’re so busy wanting, we can’t see what’s right in front of us. |
Thu, 22 May 2014
Have you ever felt like a book has found you for a reason, have you ever ran into someone that you felt like you were supposed to meet? Well this this case I feel like both the book (Paradise in Plain Sight) and the author (Karen Maezen Miller) was meant for me to find. This is my most candid interview to this point. In fact, Karen and I didn’t officially open the show like I do, there’s absolutely nothing formal about the interview (except for intro, extro and sponsor mentions) but Karen and I talked and laughed and openly had a conversation about her book and life and everything else that come up. |

Holistic pain relief is the topic on this episode of Exploring Mind and Body, and today I’m interviewing Dr. Heather Tick her book called Holistic Pain Relieft. Now I must say to be quite honest with you I was a little weary picking up a book written by a doctor, I was expecting complicated details, explanations I couldn’t understand and more information about medicine than food and lifestyle. I couldn’t have been more wrong, and once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. The title is really what got my attention, and after I started flipping through it and reading the content I was pleasantly surprised to understand that it was about food, lifestyle and even exercise. Holistic pain relief covers such a wide array of health issues, cures and prevention I couldn’t imagine someone picking it up and not getting something out of it. |
