We all deal with injuries at some point or another especially for those that are active on a regular basis.

In this show I give a number of tips to help you continue working out so you don't lose those results you worked so hard to gain.

These tips include:

  • understanding injuries are normal (you're not out of shape, too old or unable to workout)
  • listen to your body
  • don't make excuses
  • wear a brace or wrap
  • use tools like a chair or bosu ball
  • talk to an expert
  • try different exercises or modifications

Kathrine Switzer has long been one of running’s most iconic figures. But when she was inducted into the U.S.A. National Women’s Hall of Fame last year, it was not just for breaking barriers being the first female to finish the Boston Marathon, or last woman to win the NYC Marathon, but also for creating positive global social change. Because of her, millions of women are now empowered by the simple act of running.

This show was inspired by those that think and say 'it's too expensive to eat healthy'. In this show I talk about the cost of healthy living and the price we pay by not taking care of our bodies.

That includes:

  • not being used to quality foods
  • eating once a day
  • considering what your  time is worth
  • cost of medication
  • feeling good about yourself

My name is Waylon Auger. I am 26 years old from Wabasca, Alberta (6 hrs north of Olds) in my second year of college volleyball in ACAC. I have a family back home consisting of my girlfriend Tori, daughter Leilani (3 years old), and son Dominic (2 years old).

I just returned to dedicating myself to the game of volleyball less than 3 years ago after being focused on basketball since I was 20 but it never working out. I am also in Business - Sports Management and will graduate with a diploma after this year.

Some goals this year are to finish in the top 10 for kills per set and digs per set in the ACAC. As I stated this is my second season of ACAC volleyball, of which I am captain and a starter this season.

I’ve decided that I’d like to do something this year for those in need. I’ve wanted to do this for awhile now but never took the initiative. It seems like more than ever local families are in need. I also understand food banks could use our help more than ever.

I know there are so many organizations out there that are doing incredible things. Organizations I could help out, in fact, when I tell people what I’d like to do, many say, ‘why don’t you help _____’.

The truth is, I want to do my own thing, but I want to do it together. I could have helped another organization but truthfully besides some food items here or a gift there, I haven’t done as much as I’d like to.

Others say, ‘wait till you have more time to plan’, when I hear that I think to myself, how many families can we help this year that will appreciate that I don’t wait for another year. I think, how many families could we have helped if I started this 5 years ago when I first thought of it.

So I’ve decided to start a Campaign called:
‘100 Boxes for 100 Local Families’.

In this show I talk about why January is the WORST time to start any type of health and wellness program.

Research shows only 8% of people get past January when starting a program in the new year.

Then we have financial issues with all the Christmas gift spending. Packed gyms, colder weather, icy roads, not to mention being in a new environment while tons of other people are standing around waiting for equipment.

On top of all that with the unhealthy habits we are creating now with Christmas parties, desserts, appetizers and more, we're pretty much setting ourselves up for failure in the New Year.

More on why you should start today in the show!
